Dear SPARTA partners,
As you are aware after discussions at WP-level, we as coordinator, with the Executive Board, are working towards determining the extent to which an extension is needed and possible to ensure SPARTA activities are complete and their impact maximized. We are also in touch with the Project Officer regarding this matter to see what are the possibilities.
After discussions starting from the end of September and different propositions to extend the activities initially scheduled in SPARTA, the Project Officer decided that the goal of this extension will be to focus on planned activities, while extending the project - without additional funding - rather than new tasks or questions of the broader context.
We are currently consolidating the status of each WP to make a global proposition to the PO justifying the extension request; please send the information and related material to the relevant WP leaders if not already done.
Another aspect which will also be discussed with the PO is the possibility to shift the funds initially planned for travels to personnel costs (as the Covid situation prevented some of the expenses related to travels). We are going to send you a link in which it will be possible for you to say whether you would like to ask for this shift in relation with the extension.
We plan to send a synthesis to the PO and hope to get a reply
soon after about the direction to take with regards to
our propositions. As this becomes concrete and we should soon be drafting the amendment, please do not hesitate to reach us at
