Dear Colleagues,
Similarly to past years, also this year we organize the ETACS: Workshop on Education, Training and Awareness in Cybersecurity within the ARES Conference. This time, the workshop will be held in Benevento, Italy on Aug. 29th.
The workshop has interesting speakers (Fabio di Franco from ENISA, Kendra Walther from University of Southern California) and offers presentation of papers of any topic concerning education and training in cybersecurity. Papers are included in the official proceedings covered by SCOPUS, WoS (CORE B). The social program is always very rich
Please consider submitting a paper to this event, as it is a unique opportunity to meet as a community, including REWIRE, CCN pilots (SPARTA, CONCORDIA, CS4E, ECHO) and industry representatives. Students’ contributions are also very welcome. For any question, please don't hesitate to contact me.
The deadline is April 20th and the link is here: https://www.ares-conference.eu/workshops-eu-symposium/etacs-2023/ <https://www.ares-conference.eu/workshops-eu-symposium/etacs-2023/>
Thank you,
Hope to see you in Italy

> Dear all,
>
> Yesterday afternoon I attended the call with the group organizing the CONVERGENCE NEXT event. It will take place in Brussels between 1-3 June.
>
> As briefly mentioned in our April call, the agenda (see attached) includes in the last day from 9:15 – 10: 45 a slot about Education. And our focus group is expected to cover it, together with ECSO WG5. During the call yesterday I have communicated our intention to have as a main topic of Education session the governance model.
>
> Although the event is hybrid, for the day 2 and day 3 the speakers are required to be present in Brussels. And the organizers would need the names of the speakers and of the moderator (pictures + bios included) by Wednesday 18 May, COB. So, please let me know ASAP who could represent your project in this event.
>
> @Nina, I suppose that you will be representing ECSO in this panel? I would suggest coordinating on the story line of the session via a specific call with all speakers.

Dear WP9 partners
We are currently working on D9.5, which final version in several weeks.
For those of you involved in the Pilots (BUT, KTU, CINI, CNIT, MRU,
PPBW, SMILE, IST, CZ.NIC, UBO), could you please send the following link
to the students enrolled in the courses that run this Fall?
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScSKNx4R9QR6JBo5MuPpVtDb_8xrztdYyd…
Even if the courses are not completely, over, can you consider sending
them the link nevertheless? We need to provide a first complete version
of the document early December, so we need to collect as much feedback
as we can before December 1st.
Can you confirm me by mail which students (corresponding to which
courses in the Pilots) you have contacted?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
olivier
Dear WP9 partners,
You’ve received an email from coordinators below.
The situation in WP9 is that we will be able to deliver all deliverables within the expected timeframe and hopefully will not need any extension.
As any new activities outside GA are not allowed, we are very limited in what we can do in the extension. I suggested training workshops within the Go Cyber with SPARTA campaign and support of ENISA with their European Cybersecurity Skills Framework.
If you have any other ideas, please let me know. However, with no extra funding, we are very limited.
Thank you,
Kind regards,
Jan

> Dear SPARTA partners,
> As you are aware after discussions at WP-level, we as coordinator, with the Executive Board, are working towards determining the extent to which an extension is needed and possible to ensure SPARTA activities are complete and their impact maximized. We are also in touch with the Project Officer regarding this matter to see what are the possibilities.
> After discussions starting from the end of September and different propositions to extend the activities initially scheduled in SPARTA, the Project Officer decided that the goal of this extension will be to focus on planned activities, while extending the project - without additional funding - rather than new tasks or questions of the broader context.
> We are currently consolidating the status of each WP to make a global proposition to the PO justifying the extension request; please send the information and related material to the relevant WP leaders if not already done.
>
> Another aspect which will also be discussed with the PO is the possibility to shift the funds initially planned for travels to personnel costs (as the Covid situation prevented some of the expenses related to travels). We are going to send you a link in which it will be possible for you to say whether you would like to ask for this shift in relation with the extension.
>
> We plan to send a synthesis to the PO and hope to get a reply soon after about the direction to take with regards to our propositions. As this becomes concrete and we should soon be drafting the amendment, please do not hesitate to reach us at bodies.coordination(a)internal.sparta.eu <mailto:bodies.coordination@internal.sparta.eu> for remarks, questions, concerns, or specifics related to your organization.

Dear WP9 partners,
We are currently working on D9.5, which final version is due in a
few months. We however plan to have a first draft very soon.
For those of you involved in the Pilots for courses in
Professional Trainings (KTU, CNIT, PPBW, SMILE, IST, CZ.NIC),
could you please send me some content on the rationale behind the
construction of the courses in the attached files (where line 9,
course Type, is Professional)?
**Action (KTU, CNIT, PPBW, SMILE, IST, CZ.NIC):** Provide a
paragraph or two about the rationale of the construction of
their course in Professional Traning
Moreover, for those of you running a piloting course this Fall,
can you send the following link to the students enrolled in them:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScSKNx4R9QR6JBo5MuPpVtDb_8xrztdYyd…
Ideally, the poll should be filled after the whole course has
run, but we would like to have the results late November at the
latest, so you may have to send them the link a little in advance.
**Action (Administrators of Fall Pilots):** send the
questionnaire to the students after the end of the course (and
late November at the latest)
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
olivier
Dear WP9 Partners,
As you know, we are now running the education and training pilots.
Any partner that has cybersecurity training courses, please consider joining these pilots by filling the form attached and sending to Olivier: olivier.levillain(a)telecom-sudparis.eu <mailto:olivier.levillain@telecom-sudparis.eu>.
We also plan the extension of WP9 tasks in piloting, awareness, cyberranges and production of practical tools like the Curricula Designer. Please indicate, whether you are interested in collaboration on these extended tasks and/or feel free to propose others, possibly before June 18th.
Thank you,
Kind regards,

Dear All WP9 Partners,
Please note that we are starting the last phase of WP9 that is focused on piloting novel cybersecurity programs and courses.
Therefore, we would like to organize a short workshop to: 1) collect information about partners running cybersecurity courses/workshops/programs/etc. and 2) discuss how the feedback from trainees/students will be collected.
Your participation is crucial this time as we, as a group, need to meet the KPIs outlined in the proposal:
#6.1 - # of courses executed using the curricula developed by the project (20)
#6.2 - Satisfaction and # of trainees who successfully finished security-related courses designed within the project (400)
Please vote on your availability for the meeting by Wednesday Feb 3rd: https://doodle.com/poll/etzezcbrw6pnf4s2?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link <https://doodle.com/poll/etzezcbrw6pnf4s2?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link>

Dear all,
Dear all,
On February 4th at the WP9 Steering Committee meeting will be discussed the status of implementation of D9.4.
We introduced KTU proposed D9.4 development roadmap on the ALL-WP9 meeting on November 3. Presentation slides are attached to this letter.
KTU are working on our cyber training platform: infrastructure of platform, scenarios (“story line”) of exercise, instructions for providing training.
We will deliver KTU cyber training platform through SPARTA JCCI.
KTU haven’t experience to work with KYPO Cyber Range.
BUT is deploying KYPO together with CONCORDIA.
Please write how you will contribute to the implementation of D9.4.
Please send us a list, if is available short description and URL link, of what Cyber training & exercise measures you use. Perhaps these measures could be integrated into the framework.
Thank you!
