Dear Michael,
There is no problem at all :)
We did not wanted to restrict much the authors, we want you to write what you believe it is important to write. Just bear in mind that is an article/new to be read in a few minutes. Usually we receive articles with 1 to 3 pages, and a representative image. Usually I take care of the graphics.
Can I assume that the following news items are the results from your call for content from WPs 5, 9 and 4?
Yes and no⊠The first is related to WP4 and the following are related to WP5 - CAPE.
I look forward to read your items!

Dear Catarina,
sorry for lagging behind with this :-) I will send at least two item this week and another one next week.
The first one will be advertising the Summer School in August that we organize in collaboration with Cybersec4Europe, the other one is on our approach towards addressing societal readiness. The one next week will be on a specific legal issue.
I am still a bit uncertain about the suitable length. 1 page of text, about 400 words plus graphic material?

Dear Elisabete, Jan and Augustin,
dear WP2 partners,
the program chairs and general chairs of this year's IFIP Summer School on Privacy and Identity Management have now published the call for papers.
The specific topic of the summer school is "Exploring the relationship between cybersecurity and privacy, and improving training and awareness". It will address on the one hand general ELSA issues of cybersecurity (i.e. WP 2 topics) and the issue of awareness and training (i.e. WP 9 topcis). It will, therefore, foster the collaboration between WPs in SPARTA and among the CCN pilots.
Please distribute the CfP widely (to the SPARTA consortium as a whole and through your specific channels). We appreciate submission from PhD students (and early-stage postdocs) working in SPARTA. We also have a focus on gender balance as an important issue in cybersecurity. Finally, the summer school aims to invite students from outside of Europe and has some money to support them.
Apart from student papers, we welcome suggestions for workshops (90 minutes, interactive format) and tutorials (60 minutes, lecture-type) which are an instrument to disseminate SPARTA research results in a systematic way to the participants.
In terms of the KPIs we expect that it can contribute to 1) publication target (through the publication of the proceedings by Springer), 2) collaboration target between technical and ELSA work, 3) RRI/ELSA related discussions and 4) gender balance target.

Dear EB members,
This is an email concerning the activities from Activity and Program leadership for the 25th:
- Morning: During the General Assembly, each Activity will have <5 minutes and each Program <10 minutes (duration might be reduced by 1 or 2 minutes depending on the global schedule) and will be presented by Activity/Program Leadership.
o Please have a look at the templates attached and give feedback by Tuesday (September 17).
o We would like to have a first version of the slides by Thursday (September 19); please tell us ahead if this might be an issue for you. (You can find a KPI table already in latest EBâs slides.)
o
- Afternoon: Each Activity / Program Leadership will drive his or her meeting as he or she intends. Please note that video-projection will not be available except for the large room (Roadmap, CAPE, and CINI). Could you thus please make an agenda of your session and share it with us by Thursday (September 19)?

Please find below a proposition for the scheduling of the 25th afternoon sessions. We tried to find the best mix to avoid too many activities and/or programs with the same contributors to happen at the same time (though this is inevitable at some point unfortunately).

Subject: SPARTA Event #2 in Roma
Dear EB members,
As announced, the second SPARTA Event will be held in Roma, co-located with Cybertech Europe (4000+ attendees), with a strong support from the Italian cluster. Please find attached an early tentative program covering the 24th and the 25th of September. On the 26th (morning), we plan to have an EB and a WP1 meeting (also including ISCOM for this latter) in CNR headquarters. Please note the order of the sessions and their topic can still evolve; your feedback is welcome âș
If you want to have a look at the context, Cybertech Europeâs website is here: https://italy.cybertechconference.com

Dear all,
each WP lead was asked to prepare slides for the General Assembly next week. The structure of the presentations was given. It might be a bit surprising that there is no slide on the status of the work or interim results. But I have 5 minutes (or even less) for presenting the slides anyways.
So I filled out the template to the best of my knowledge.
Please have a look and give feedback ASAP â the slides have to be sent to CEA by Thursday.
Best

Dear SPARTA program leaders,
I mentioned in the last EB telco last Tuesday that for the work of WP 2 the exchange with the programs is essential:
1. From the programs --> WP 2: We need to learn what the programs are doing in order to identify ethical, legal, societal issues/challenges, to assess them and to make suggestions how to address them. We have learned that the programs are currently on the way to define their use case(s), to develop system descriptions and a work plan. Any (stable) documentation of that kind is valuable for the WP 2 work. In the WP 2 timetable it would be best if we had that information after summer break, i.e. in September 2019. Please let me know what kind of documents you are working on that could be useful for our WP 2 work and when you expect to have them ready!
2. As a first step WP 2 is going to identify from the literature and other EU projects what is considered as ethical, legal and societal challenges in cybersecurity (research). This will result in a rather generic list of possible issues and we need to discuss a) if our list is complete or needs to be complemented, b) which of the identified issues are relevant for the 4 programs and c) what priority they have. That will form the basis for our next step to define challenges for the programs and to discuss possible ways to deal with them. We would like to do that in a workshop that is either part of the SPARTA days in September in Rome or on the following day.
Particpation in this workshop will of course not limited to the programs but open for every interested SPARTAn.
Best

Dear SPARTA collegues,
I have to apologize that I only today realized that we have the last Monday in May. We had agreed in our meeting in Lisbon that on that date we will have a monthly telephone conference to inform the group about ongoing work and decide (if necessary) on further steps.
Since our KO was just 2 weeks ago I suggest that we start with the telcos in June.
Please fill out the attached Dudle Poll to find a good time for ALL telcos (not just the June telco).

@MRU and UNamur: I have not received any feedback on the draft minutes of the KO meeting. It would be nice if you sent the requested additional item.

Dear colleagues,
I would like to bring to your attention that the H2020 CANVAS Project (Constructing an Alliance for Value-driven CyberÂsecurity) will be finished soon and is organising its final event on 19 June 2018 in Brussels. The draft agenda is attached to this mail. Please save the date in your calendars. I will update you when more information becomes available.
The project has been dealing with questions that are relevant for SPARTA as well and it can be assumed that we can profit from their work in the "responsibility activities" (aka WP 2) of SPARTA.
Until now CANVAS has produced 4 interesting White Papers on Cybersecurity and Ethics and Law, Attitudes and Opinions Regarding Cybersecurity and on Technological Challenges in Cybersecurity.
