Good afternoon.

 

As ELSA auditor for the SPARTA Project, I’m glad to invite you to contribute to the Second Internal ELSA Audit.

You were selected due to your important role in, and contributions to, the SPARTA project.

In this initiative you will join all WP Leaders, as well as 30 other SPARTANs, in contributing to build and ensure our ELSA excellence.

 

For this audit initiative, you are invited to reply to this message until November 20th with the required 26 ELSA ratings, as per the attached Excel file “ELSA-Audit-control-objectives-M24-New-ELSA-Champions-2020-V2.3.xlsx”.

This task should take you approximately 1 hour.

 

In the SPARTA Project, the ELSA acronym stands for Ethical, Legal, and Societal Aspects, in the context of “WP2 - Responsible innovation: ethical, legal and societal aspects”.

According to the description of work:

 

Cybersecurity research and innovations will have sustainable success only if ethical and societal impacts – both short-term and long-term opportunities, constrains, and threats – are assessed and prioritized alongside technical and commercial impacts.

Compatibility of innovations with the legal framework is obviously of fundamental importance.

 

Last year’s ELSA audit results were reported in deliverable D2.2 (M12). This year’s results will be reported in deliverable D2.4 (M24).

 

To complete your audit task, please follow the instructions below:

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROVIDING THE ELSA RATINGS

  1. (10 min) Read the attached PowerPoint presentation, containing an introduction to the Second ELSA Audit.
  2. (50 min) Provide your ELSA ratings:
    1. Create a copy of the attached Excel file “ELSA-Audit-control-objectives-M24-New-ELSA-Champions-2020-V2.3.xlsx”.
    2. Select the Excel sheet “Control objectives”.
    3. For each of the 26 statements in Column E, select a rating in Column D, using the drop-down list:

                                                       i.      Values allowed: FA / LA / PA / NA. The meaning of the rating scale can be found in the Excel sheet “Rating Scale”.

                                                      ii.      For your reference, the ratings provided by WP Leaders in last year’s ELSA Audit may be found in the attached file “Last-year-ELSA-Audit-results.xlsx”.

    1. Save your ratings’ Excel file.
  1. Reply to this message (Reply To: goncalo.cadete@inov.pt ), including your ratings’ Excel file as an attachment.

 

 

Please let me know if there are any issues regarding your participation in the ELSA Audit.

Also, please send your contribution ASAP. You may update your ratings until November 20th.
