Title: RevOK: never trust your victim
Venue: Research in Attacks, Intrusions and Defenses (RAID) 2020
Relationship with SPARTA: The paper presents a novel attacker model and a methodology that we applied to detect 36 vulnerabilities in security scanners. Among them, two were found in the famous tool Metasploit Pro. The relationship with SPARTA/HAII-T is that scanners are often used to probe the attack surface of an infrastructure. Thus, countermeasures such as the one reported in the paper can harden the future II against remote attacks.
